We exist to get people into South Africa’s landscapes in a way that feels real, respectful, and memorable.
How we started
Excite began in Cape Town in 2016. The founders had spent years guiding and travelling across the country and kept noticing the same gap: many “adventures” felt rushed, crowded, or disconnected from the places they claimed to celebrate.
The response was simple. Design experiences around the place first. Keep groups small. Work with guides who actually know the routes, the seasons, and the local context. Prefer quality of attention over quantity of stops.
That approach still defines everything we do — from a single-day Table Mountain hike to multi-day journeys further afield.

Respect for place
We plan routes and group sizes to minimise impact and to leave room for the landscape to do the talking.
Honest guiding
Guides share real knowledge — ecology, history, practical safety — not a script designed only to impress.
Human scale
Small groups mean better conversations, more flexibility, and a day that feels like an experience rather than a tour.
Where we operate
Our base is Cape Town. From there we run experiences across the Western Cape and into other parts of South Africa depending on the season and the itinerary.
